The Lady Falcons Face Virginia State At 12:10 p.m.; The Falcons Take On Lincoln (Pa.) At 6:40 p.m.
 

RALEIGH, NC (Feb 18) – The Saint Augustine's University (SAU) men's and women's basketball teams will open the 2017 CIAA Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C. The Lady Falcons face Virginia State University at 12:10 p.m. in the women's bracket and the Falcons take on Lincoln (Pa.) University at 6:40 p.m. in the men's bracket.

Both the Falcons (12-15 overall) and Lady Falcons (3-25 overall) are seeded sixth in the Southern Division in their respective brackets. Virginia State (19-7 overall) is the Northern Division No. 3 seed in the women's bracket and Lincoln (Pa.) (7-19 overall) is the Northern Division No. 5 seed in the men's bracket.

The SAU-Virginia State women's winner meets Livingstone College at 10 a.m. and the SAU-Lincoln (Pa.) men's winner plays Fayetteville State University at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Bojangles Coliseum. Livingstone is the Southern Division No. 2 seed in the women's bracket and Fayetteville State is the Southern Division No. 4 seed in the men's bracket. The tournament moves to the Spectrum Center, formerly Time Warner Cable Arena, on Thursday, Feb. 23.

The Lady Falcons lost to Virginia State 79-45 in Ettrick, Va. in their only regular-season meeting on Dec. 18, 2016. The Falcons fell to Lincoln (Pa.) 70-67 in Raleigh, N.C. during the regular season on Jan. 11, 2017.
