The Lady Falcons are coming off a 61-59 victory over Shaw University at home on Wednesday, the first against their crosstown rival since 2010. Kaaliya Williams (So./Richmond, VA) led the Lady Falcons with 16 points and eight rebounds while Kelsee Arnold (Jr./Fayetteville, GA) and Kamya Renwicks (So./Baltimore, MD) added 14 and 10 points, respectively. The victory moved the Lady Falcons (1-2 Southern Division, 5-13 overall) into a fourth-place tie with the Lady Bears in the Southern Division standings.
The Falcons have lost their last two games after falling at home to Shaw 54-48 on Wednesday. Tyre Gathright (Jr./Wilmington, NC) scored 13 points and Kenneth Collins (Sr./Clayton, NC) added 11 points while CIAA rebounding leader Quincy January (Sr./Atlanta, GA) pulled down 18 rebounds in the contest. In the Southern Division, the Falcons (1-2 Southern Division, 9-11 overall) are in a three-way tie for third with Fayetteville State University and Livingstone.
The Lady Blue Bears have lost their last nine games including an 81-49 loss to Johnson C. Smith University on the road on Wednesday. Kyala Searcy had 10 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat for the Lady Blue Bears (0-3 Southern Division, 5-13 overall), who are sixth in the Southern Division.
The Blue Bears (1-2 Southern Division, 6-8 overall) suffered an 89-75 road defeat to Johnson C. Smith on Wednesday. Roger Ray, ranked fourth in the CIAA in scoring, carried the Blue Bears with 29 points against the Golden Bulls.
