SAU Men's Basketball Visits Crosstown Rival Shaw Saturday (Jan. 26)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 25) – After playing seven straight home games, Saint Augustine's University hits the road with a crosstown trip to Shaw University on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Spaulding Gymnasium. Starting time is 4 p.m.

Ishmael Baldwin scored a career-high 14 points for Saint Augustine's University, but a late Falcons' lead slipped away in a 55-52 CIAA men's basketball loss to Shaw University at Spaulding Gymnasium on Feb. 17, 2018.
The Falcons held a nine-point lead early in the second half but found themselves trailing 55-52 with 8.3 seconds left. They needed a three-pointer to force overtime but committed a turnover before time expired.
 
LAST GAME
Tyre Gathright poured in 25 points and Jalen Gaddy (Jr./Raleigh, NC) added 22 points, all in the second half, as the Falcons exploded in the final 20 minutes for a 76-62 CIAA victory over Johnson C. Smith University at Emery Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Led by the backcourt duo, the Falcons scored 48 second-half points, which is the second highest total for the team this season. Gaddy, who came off the bench, scored all 22 points in the second half and Gathright added 13 points as the Falcons took control after holding a slim 28-27 halftime lead.


Shaw University held on for a 73-69 road victory over Winston-Salem State University in a CIAA Southern Division contest at the C.E. Gaines Center on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Junior Amir Hinton led the way with 31 points on 15-of-17 free throw shooting and five assists.
