RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 8) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) opens the 2019-20 men's basketball season at the Shaw Classic in Raleigh, N.C., this weekend.
The Falcons tangle against Frostburg State University on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. and Mansfield University on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. They are one of five teams competing in the Shaw Classic, which will be held at Spaulding Gymnasium on the Shaw University campus.

The Falcons enter this season with six lettermen back, including guard Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC). The senior guard is the Falcons' top returning scorer (11 points per game) and was one of the CIAA's best three-point marksmen last season. Gaddy was named to the All-CIAA Tournament team a year ago.
Gaddy is part of a strong nucleus, which includes guards Rashad George (Jr./Raleigh, NC), Donte Edwards (So./Durham, NC) and Otis "O.J." Hill, Jr. (Sr./Shallotte, NC) and forwards Miguel Brown (Jr./Wilson, NC) and Hirk "Trey" Williams (Sr./Manassas, VA). Aaron Johnson-Cash (R-Fr./San Francisco, CA), a forward, returns after missing all but six games due to injury last season. The Falcons, led by sixth-year Head Coach MarQus Johnson, have also added several talented newcomers.
After they compete in the Shaw Classic, the Falcons will play before the home fans at Emery Gymnasium on Nov. 20 against the University of Mount Olive. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
