SAU Men's Basketball Hosts Shaw In Crosstown Rematch Saturday (Feb. 16)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 14) – Saint Augustine's University hosts Shaw University in a CIAA men's basketball rematch between crosstown rivals at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tipoff is 4 p.m.
 
The Falcons are coming off a four-game, eight-day road stretch. Three games remain for the Falcons in the regular season including two at home.

ADMISSION
$13 general admission for the men's contest, which is part of a doubleheader. $8.50 for faculty/staff, senior citizens, military personnel, visiting students with valid ID and children ages 6-12. Free for SAU students with valid ID and children ages five and under (per one paying adult).

SAU was sizzling behind the arc, making a season-high 12 of 21 three-pointers for an astounding 57.1 percent. Tyre Gathright led the Falcons with 20 points. Rashad George (So./Raleigh, NC) added a career-high 19 points and Mel'Quan Ames (Jr./Weldon, NC) scored a career-high 17 points and added seven rebounds.
 
LAST MEETING AT EMERY GYMNASIUM
Tyre Gathright scored 13 points and Kenneth Collins added 11 points for Saint Augustine's University, but the Falcons fell 54-48 to Shaw on Jan. 24, 2018. Quincy January amassed 18 rebounds for the Falcons, who led 24-19 at halftime.
 
LAST GAME
Tyre Gathright scored a career-high 32 points as Saint Augustine's University upended Winston-Salem State University 68-51 in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Falcons held the Rams to 36.7 percent shooting, including 21.1 percent behind the three-point arc.
 
Amir Hinton had 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals for Shaw in a 72-63 Southern Division victory over Winston-Salem State in Raleigh, N.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Bears outscored the Rams 40-27 in the second half.
