RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 2) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) opens the new year against Glenville State College in a non-conference men's basketball game at Emery Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 3. Tipoff is 6 p.m.
Tickets are $9 for general admission and $5.50 for senior citizens, military personnel with valid ID, faculty, staff, visiting college students and children ages 6-12. The contest is free for SAU students and children ages 5 and under per one paying adult.

The Falcons (2-8 overall) are paced by Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC), one of the CIAA's top three-point marksmen. The SAU guard averages 14.6 points and ranks third in the CIAA in three-point field goal percentage (38.2). He averages 2.6 treys a game, which ranks fifth in the conference.
Karaan Clemonts of SAU (Jr./Weldon, NC) ranks fifth in the CIAA in assists per game (3.0) and third in the league in steals per game (1.7). Miguel Brown (Jr./Wilson, NC) is tied for 11th in the CIAA in rebounds per game (6.5) in addition to averaging 8.6 points. He is tied for ninth in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (2.4).
SAU will attempt to slow down a Glenville State team (8-3 overall) averaging 102.7 points per game, which ranks third nationally in Division II. Phil Bledsoe ranks 11th in the nation in points per game (24.5) and 17th in the country in rebounds per game (10.0). Ty Robinson ranks 11th in the country in blocked shots per game (2.5).
Glenville State is based out of Glenville, W.Va. The Pioneers are members of the Mountain East Conference.
The last time both teams played was November 2015 in Ettrick, Va. The Falcons won the contest 77-71.
