The Falcons (1-6 CIAA, 6-11 overall) are coming off a 72-69 victory over high-octane Livingstone in Salisbury, N.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The Blue Bears were held well below their league-high average (84.3) and committed 20 turnovers against the Falcons' bothersome defense.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Falcons, who are shooting for two consecutive victories for the second time this season. Leading the way for SAU are top scorers Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC) and Gary Jefferson (Jr./Baltimore, MD), who both carried the Falcons offensively against Livingstone. Gaddy paced the Falcons with 21 points and Jefferson scored 18, including 15 in the second half.

Jefferson and Gaddy spearhead a balanced SAU attack. Jefferson averages 13.9 points and Gaddy averages 13.2 points. Karaan Clemonts (Jr./Weldon, NC) averages 9.2 points, Donte Edwards (So./Durham, NC) averages 8.9 points and Miguel Brown (Jr./Wilson, NC) averages 8.1 points.

Shaw (1-8 CIAA, 4-15 overall) is looking to halt an 11-game losing skid. The Bears are led by Kelley Greyson, who is among the CIAA's scoring leaders with a 20.4 average. Kelsie DaVaughn averages 16.4 points and Nigel Martin averages 15.5 points. Dhashon Dyson averages 12.5 points.

The season series is tied 11-11 in the last 22 games between both teams. The Falcons are aiming for their first win against Shaw at Emery Gymnasium since the 2016-17 season, a span of two games.
