Two Away Games Remain For SAU Men's Basketball In Final Week Of Regular Season (Feb. 19, 22)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 18) – Saint Augustine's University concludes the regular season with two road games against CIAA men's basketball opponents this week.

The Falcons visit Elizabeth City State University at the Vaughan Center in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The 7:30 p.m. contest is designated as a non-conference game.

In the regular-season finale, SAU faces Southern Division foe Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C., on Saturday, Feb. 22. Tipoff is 4 p.m. at Capel Arena.

The Falcons are coming off a 79-59 road win over Shaw University on Feb. 15. They swept the two-game season series over their crosstown rival for the first time in four years.

Gary Jefferson (Jr/Baltimore, MD) is the top scorer (13.0 points per game) for the Falcons, winners of two of their last three games. Jalen Gaddy (Sr./Raleigh, NC) averages 11.8 points for SAU (10-16 overall, 5-11 CIAA), sixth in the Southern Division.

Justin Faison and Zaccheus Hobbs average 16.6 points and 16 points, respectively, for Elizabeth City State (12-14 overall, 4-10 CIAA), tied for fourth in the Northern Division. Jalen Seegars averages 16.4 points for Fayetteville State (19-7 overall, 8-7 CIAA), third in the Southern Division.

The Falcons lost to both teams at home earlier this season. They fell 85-75 to Elizabeth City State on Dec. 14, 2019 and 78-72 to Fayetteville State on Feb. 1.

Both Elizabeth City State and Fayetteville State suffered home losses on Feb. 15. The Vikings fell 75-59 to Northern Division leader Virginia State University and the Broncos were edged 53-52 to Winston-Salem State University.
