SAU Men's Basketball To Compete In Mount Olive Pickle Classic This Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 18) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) travels to Mount Olive, N.C., this weekend for the Pickle Classic men's basketball doubleheader at Kornegay Arena.

Below is the schedule:
Friday, Nov. 19
Barton vs. St. Augustine's 5 p.m.
Virginia State vs. Mount Olive 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 20
Barton vs. Virginia State 5 p.m.
St. Augustine's vs. Mount Olive 7 p.m.

The Falcons (1-2 overall) are coming off their first victory of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Led by 17 points from Dhashon Dyson (So./Chicago, IL) and 15 points from Josh Page (Sr./Washington, DC), SAU defeated Virginia-Lynchburg 81-64 at Emery Gymnasium.

Dyson ranks second in the CIAA in scoring (19.0 average), fourth in three-pointers made per game (2.7) and seventh in three-point shooting percentage (38.1). Brian Keith Jr. (Fr./Raleigh, NC) and Spencer Washington (So./Dallas, TX) are both tied for fifth in blocks per game (1.0) and Christopher Hill (Jr./Charlotte, NC) ranks third in steals per game (2.3).

Barton (0-2 overall) is led by Donaven Hairston with a 20-point average. Alan Treakle averages 20 points for Mount Olive (0-2 overall), which is hosting the doubleheader.
