Lady Falcons Trip ECSU For Fifth Consecutive Win

RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's College took advantage of 20 turnovers by Elizabeth City State University to gain a 70-54 CIAA women's basketball win Monday (Jan. 18) at Emery Gymnasium. The victory was the fifth straight for the Lady Falcons (9-6 overall, 6-3 CIAA).

 

The Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Vikings (9-5 overall, 5-5 CIAA) 22-9 off turnovers to lead comfortably throughout the game. Allison Sikes (Jr./Richmond, Va.) led the way with 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting, and LeKiesha White (Jr./Richmond, Va.) added 12 points and three steals for the Lady Falcons, who recorded nine steals.

 

Keyona Bryant (So./Springdale, Md.) had 8 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Falcons, who also recorded a season-low 11 turnovers. Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Vikings. Kenyatta Gill scored 14 points, Ashley Anderson added 12 points and Shaquella Johnson contributed 11 points.

 

The Lady Falcons travel to Bowie State University on Saturday (Jan. 23) for a CIAA contest in Bowie, Md. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
