Lady Falcons Rip Lincoln (Pa.) 83-57

RALEIGH, N.C. – Allison Sikes (Jr./Richmond, Va.) scored 17 points as Saint Augustine's College posted season-highs in points and field goal percentage in an 83-57 runaway non-conference basketball win over Lincoln (Pa.) University on Monday (Jan. 4) at Emery Gymnasium.

 

The Lady Falcons (5-6 overall) shot 56 percent to snap a two-game losing streak. In addition to leading the team in scoring, Sikes added seven rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Lady Falcons.

 

Keyona Bryant (So./Springdale, Md.) added 15 points for the Lady Falcons, who had seven players score eight or more points. Crystal McCaffity (Jr./Havelock, N.C.) led the surge off the bench with a season-high 11 points including 3 of 6 three-point shooting as the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Lions 37-21 in bench points.

 

LeKiesha White (Jr./Richmond, Va.) and Rudeesha Reese (Sr./Teaneck, N.J.) both added nine points, while Ariel Brown (Jr./Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Ja'Lessia Davis (Fr./Ridgecrest, La.) both had eight points. Davis, a 6-2 center, also had six rebounds, and a game-high four steals off the bench. Sharay Dubose led all scorers with 19 points, and she also pulled down seven rebounds for the Lady Lions (2-8 overall), who shot 34 percent overall.

 

The Lady Falcons shot 58 percent in the second half to stretch a 10-point halftime lead to a final margin of 26 points.

 

The Lady Falcons will visit Virginia Union University on Saturday (Jan. 9) in Richmond, Va., for a CIAA contest. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
