FSU Sweeps Lady Falcons In Softball

RALEIGH, NC – Fayetteville State defeated Saint Augustine's College 11-1 in the first game and 17-3 in the second game of a CIAA softball doubleheader Thursday at Walnut Creek Complex.

 

Misty Huber led the Lady Broncos (11-15, 4-3 CIAA). She threw two-hitters in both games, combining for 19 strikeouts.

 

In the first game, Huber was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs to tie for game-high RBI honors with Latonia Gatling and Rita Diaz. Jerissa Lake and Roshanda Henderson each collected a hit for the Lady Falcons.

 

In the second game, Shahiree Covington went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs for the Lady Broncos. Diaz added three RBIs on 1-for-3 hitting. Ebony Milton went 1-for-2 and drove in a run for the Lady Falcons.

 

The Lady Falcons (1-11, 0-6 CIAA) will host CIAA newcomer Chowan University in a doubleheader Saturday at Walnut Creek. The first game starts at 1 p.m.
