Hart Of SAU Named Food Lion CIAA Softball Rookie Of The Week

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 25) – Utility player Rashonda Hart (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) of Saint Augustine's University was selected Food Lion CIAA Softball Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Hart was perfect on defense as a third baseman and shortstop over the weekend. She recorded eight putouts with five assists and no errors in four games for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

On offense, Hart posted a .556 batting average, a .667 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. She was 5-for-9 in four games with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs against CIAA contenders Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State.

The CIAA weekly honor is the first for Hart in her career.
