ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Saint Augustine's College opened the 2011 softball season with two losses to Claflin Monday in a doubleheader. Claflin won 11-0 in the first game and 13-4 in the second game.
Junior first baseman 
Kathryn Tokarski (Saskatchewan, Canada) led the Lady Falcons with a double in the first game. Senior center fielder 
Dominique Brown (Detroit, Mich.), senior shortstop 
Roshonda Henderson (Warrenton, N.C.) and freshman left fielder 
LaKeisha Ford (Madison Heights, Va.) each singled for the Lady Falcons. 
In the second game, the Lady Falcons scored three runs in the second inning to pull within 4-3. 
Roshonda Henderson scored on a error while senior third baseman 
Jerissa Lake (Christianstead, St. Croix) and freshman right fielder 
Jennifer Plair (Hampton, Va.) both hit RBI singles in the inning.
Claflin responded with five runs in the bottom of the second for a 9-3 lead. Shackleford scored on an error in the third inning for the Lady Falcons, but Claflin added four runs in the third inning for the final score.
Senior second baseman 
Sanqueesha Henderson (Warrenton, N.C.) drove in two runs while Plair and Lake each had an RBI for the Lady Falcons. Plair and Shackleford each had two hits including a double for Plair.
The Lady Falcons play again March 1 at Voorhees College in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. The site is Denmark, S.C.
