RALEIGH, N.C. - Shaw University downed Saint Augustine's College 10-8 and 16-1 Tuesday in a CIAA softball doubleheader at Walnut Creek Softball Complex. The doubleheader was designated as Senior Day for Saint Augustine's College.

In the first game, the Lady Bears scored three runs in the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie. Michelle Shackleford (Fr./Landover, Md.) of the Lady Falcons hit an RBI single to cut the Lady Bears' lead to 10-8 in the bottom of the seventh. The Lady Falcons had a runner on base and the potential game-tying run at the plate, but the Lady Bears recorded the final two outs for the win. In the second game, Jennifer Plair (Fr./Hampton, Va.) and LaKeisha Ford (Fr./Madison Heights, Va.) led the Lady Falcons with an RBI apiece. 

Seven Lady Falcon seniors were honored between games. They were Brittany Jones (Detroit, Mich.), Angela Wood (Upper Marlboro, Md.), Jerissa Lake (St. Croix, U.S., Virgin Islands), Joy Hutchinson (Detroit, Mich.), Roshonda Henderson (Warrenton, N.C.), Sanqueesha Henderson (Warrenton, N.C.) and Dominique Brown (Detroit, Mich.). The doubleheader marked the last home regular-season games this season for the Lady Falcons.
