RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior guard Keianna Evans (Fayetteville, N.C.) was one of several bright spots for Saint Augustine's College in a 100-67 CIAA women's basketball loss to Winston-Salem State Saturday (Jan. 28) at Emery Gymnasium.

Keyona Bryant (Springdale, Md.) added 12 points, and senior guard Brittany Torain (Warner Robins, Ga.) had 10 points and five steals. Sophomore guard
Victoria Davis (San Diego, Calif.) finished with nine points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Lady Falcons, who collected 17 steals.
But the Lady Rams (13-5, 8-0 CIAA, 2-0 Southern Division) dominated several other categories including points in the paint (52-36), fast break points (22-8) and bench points (48-19). The Lady Rams shot 55.6 percent while the Lady Falcons shot 26.8 percent. The Lady Falcons failed to make a three-point bucket for the second time this season.
This contest got away from the Lady Falcons early. The score was 24-19 Lady Rams at the 10:55 mark of the first half, when the Lady Rams went on a 31-14 run to finish the half. Courtney Medley scored 22 of her game-high 28 points in the first half to give the Lady Rams a 55-33 halftime lead. She was one of five double-figure scorers for the Lady Rams, who shot 62.1 percent in the first half.
The loss is the third in a row for the Lady Falcons (10-8, 5-3 CIAA, 0-2 Southern Division), who host Livingstone College Monday in a Southern Division contest at Emery Gymnasium. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
