RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's College started fast, but Shaw University took control midway in the first half of a 90-51 CIAA women's basketball win over the Lady Falcons Thursday (Feb. 23) at Emery Gymnasium.

Backed by a spirited home crowd which included a deejay playing music, the Lady Falcons spurted to a 7-2 lead. That would be the biggest lead of the game for the Lady Falcons (13-13 overall, 8-8 CIAA, 3-7 Southern Division).

The Lady Bears (20-6, 15-1 CIAA, 9-1 Southern Division) went on a 36-9 run to open a 38-16 lead with 5:34 left in the half. The outcome was never in doubt from that point.

Brittany Ransom and Brittney Spencer both added 13 points and Crystal Harris had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
