The contest was the CIAA women's basketball opener for the Lady Falcons (6-4 overall), who captured their fourth consecutive victory.
"Great win today!," said St. Aug Head Coach
Rachel Bullard, whose squad was at Emery Gymnasium for only the second time this season. "It feels good to be back at home."
The double-double was a career first for Walton and the rebounds were a career-high for her. She also added five assists.

"Porscha was excellent on the boards and attacking the rim," Bullard said. "She put the team on her back and carried us.
Brittany Allen came to play. She's a great defender, and she exhibited her skills on the defensive end with two blocks and pressure on the ball."
The ferocious rebounding by the Lady Falcons helped them overcome a second-half deficit after leading the entire first half. The Lady Vikings (0-2 CIAA, 3-8 overall) led 40-33 on Derricka Henry's basket with 12:20 remaining, but the Lady Falcons scored seven points off offensive rebounds to spark a game-deciding 34-17 run. Davis scored a layup off two offensive rebounds to give the Lady Falcons control at 56-48 with 2:25 left in the game. For the contest, the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Vikings 22-9 in second chance points.
"I have to give ECSU credit - [The Lady Vikings] came ready to play," Bullard said. "We couldn't quite shake them until about seven minutes remaining in the second half, but we continued to work hard and perservere after being behind by seven."
The contest was similar to the first meeting between both teams on December 5, 2013. In that game, the Lady Falcons spurted late for a 58-47 win on the road in the non-conference affair. Just as in their previous matchup, the Lady Falcons wore down the Lady Vikings with depth. The Lady Falcons constantly rotated players, bringing in as many as four or five players at a time. It paid off which showed in the rebounding category. Eleven of the Lady Falcons' 13 players saw time with eight players scoring five or more points.
Their depth and rebounding offset 28 points from DaShera Boone of the Lady Vikings. No other Lady Viking scored in double figures or totaled double digits in rebounds. Their rebounding also helped the Lady Falcons overcome 36 percent shooting and 22 turnovers.
"Everyone contributed in some way," Bullard said. "Overall, I'm proud of our effort as a unit."
The Lady Falcons return on the court Monday, January 6, 2014 at home inside Emery Gymnasium. They will host Chowan University in a 5:30 p.m. matchup before hitting the road for five straight road games.
"We are going back to work Sunday to prepare for Chowan," Bullard said.
