Box Score 3 ETTRICK, Va. – Freshman
Korey Hill (Virginia Beach, VA) of Saint Augustine's University hurled a no-hitter in a 5-0 softball victory over Elizabeth City State University at Virginia State University softball field during the CIAA Round-Up II, which was held Sunday, March 9 and Monday, March 10.
Hill struck out 10 batters and walked three in seven complete innings. It is the first no-hitter by a St. Aug softball pitcher in recent memory.
Her pin-point pitching accuracy was the biggest of several highlights for the Lady Falcons during the Round-Up. Junior
Cierra Neal (New Hill, NC) batted a team-high .556 in three games. She was 5-for-9 with a home run and three RBIs. Junior
Jo'Landa White (Leland, NC) batted .455 and had team-highs in RBIs (5) and runs (4). Both Neal and White each had the most hits (5) on the squad.
Against ECSU, the Lady Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the second inning before adding four more runs in the third inning. In the second inning,

Daja White (Leland, NC) scored on an infield error after reaching base on an error.

Meranda Zanni (Phoenix, OR). Walters reached base on an error and Zanni singled.

Jo'Landa White was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Lady Falcons. She also scored two runs.
The Lady Falcons played two other games in the Round-Up. They lost 9-1 to Chowan University on Sunday and 8-7 to Virginia State University on Monday. Their record is 1-2 in the CIAA and 6-12 overall.
Against Chowan,
Daja White was 2-for-3 and drove in the team's only run in the third inning.
Daja White hit a single to score Ford, who doubled earlier.
Against Virginia State, the Lady Falcons scored in the sixth inning to tie the game at 7-7. Virginia State won in the seventh inning on a two-out single.
Jo'Landa White was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Neal was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored.
Daja White had two hits and two runs scored.

Hannah Stutts, who reached base on a single.
Virginia State countered with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to re-gain the lead at 7-6. The Lady Falcons tied the score in the sixth inning on a
Jo'Landa White RBI single which scored
Daja White, who reached base on an error and stole second and third.
The Lady Falcons are back in action in the WSSU Tournament hosted by Winston-Salem State University on Tuesday, March 18 thru Thursday, March 20 in Winston-Salem, N.C. They open the tournament against Mansfield University on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
