WILSON, N.C. – Guard Sycoya Dorsey (Jr./Richmond, VA) finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Saint Augustine's University in an 88-68 women's basketball loss to Barton College at Wilson Gymnasium on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015. Center Shakeisha Washington (Jr./Atlanta, GA) added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady Falcons, who played their third game in four days.

Dorsey and Washington led a balanced attack. The foursome of forward Ashanti Reid (Jr./Statesville, NC), center Khadijah Payne (So./Gloucester, VA), guard Ke-Ashe Lee (So./Roanoke, VA) and guard Akera McPhaul (Fr./Greensboro, NC) each scored eight points. Reid added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, and McPhaul recorded five steals and four rebounds.

Payne pulled down five rebounds, and center Teeria Vaughan (Jr./Waterboro, SC) contributed four rebounds and two blocks for the Lady Falcons, who held their own on the boards against the Lady Bulldogs. The rebounding battle was even at 43-43 with the Lady Falcons holding the edge in offensive rebounds 16-15.

The Lady Falcons (0-3 overall) started slowly but finished with a flourish. They shot 29 percent in the first half to fall behind 41-25 at halftime. In the second half, the Lady Falcons outshot the Lady Bulldogs 57 percent to 51 percent. Despite dressing seven players, the Lady Falcons had enough energy to outscore the Lady Bulldogs 26-22 in the fourth quarter.

Dinah Neal and Kelsee Arnold both scored 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs (1-2 overall). Tatyana Jackson added 10 points.

The Lady Falcons will take a break before resuming play on Saturday, Nov. 21, against Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. The contest will begin at 2 p.m.
