Smith University at Brayboy Gymnasium on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Guard Porscha Walton (Jr./Chesterfield, VA) added 16 points on 10 of 10 free throw shooting and four steals for the Lady Falcons, who fell to 2-5 in the Southern Division and 11-11 overall. The Golden Bulls upped their record to 4-3 in the Southern Division and 18-6 overall. Harris scored 12 points while Walton and guard Shelby Stokes (So./Cleveland, OH) each added eight points for the Lady Falcons, who trailed 38-36 at halftime. The Golden Bulls opened the second half with a 15-6 run to take a 53-42 lead at the 14:37 mark and never looked back. The Lady Falcons were outscored 59-37 in the second half. "This was an extremely tough loss," Lady Falcons' Head Coach Rachel Bullard said. "We are out of sync as a unit right now. We have to get it together or these next few games will be rough." The Lady Falcons shot 41 percent in the first half but cooled off to 32 percent in the second half. They were sharp from the free throw line, making 25 of 29 overall from the charity stripe for 86 percent.
Anika Jones scored 18 points to lead five double-figure scorers for the Golden Bulls, who shot 53 percent in the second half. Alishia Mobley added 17 points for the Golden Bulls.
The Lady Falcons will host crosstown rival Shaw University on the Harvey D. Heartley, Sr. Court at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday, February 14. Game time is 2 p.m.
