RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University will host crosstown rival Shaw University in a CIAA softball doubleheader at Worthdale Park on Senior Day Saturday, April 18, 2015. Game times are 12 p.m. and approximately 2 p.m.
The Lady Falcons (14-10 overall) enter the doubleheader as the CIAA Southern Division leader at 4-0. Shaw (6-22 overall) is 2-2 in the Southern Division.
The Lady Falcons are led offensively by Marley Parker (Fr./Langley, British Columbia), who ranks third in batting average (.456), third in runs batted in (25) and fifth in home runs (4) in the CIAA. Danyelle Noland (Fr./Nashville, NC) ranks third in the league in stolen bases (10).
Pitcher Meranda Zanni (So./Phoenix, OR) leads the CIAA in earned run average (2.22) and Hannah Stutts (Sr./Statesville, NC) ranks fifth (3.50). Korey Hill (So./Virginia Beach, VA) of the Lady Falcons is third in the conference in strikeouts (51).
Three SAU seniors will be honored on Saturday. They are Taylor Walters (Sr./Douglasville, GA), Jo'Landa White (Sr./Leland, NC) and Stutts.
