The Lady Falcons Will Compete In The Southern Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament
RALEIGH, NC (Nov 10) – This weekend, Saint Augustine's University will make its first appearance of the women's basketball season at the Southern Wesleyan University Tip-Off Tournament in Central, S.C.
The Lady Falcons will make its season debut against Brenau (Ga.) University inside Tysinger Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that contest will play the Southern Wesleyan-Columbia International University winner in the Saturday, Nov. 12 championship game at 5 p.m. The losers of Friday's games will face each other in the consolation game on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Lady Falcons return three players from last year's squad. Center Shakeisha Washington (Sr./Atlanta, GA) and guard Ke-Ashe Lee (Jr./Roanoke, VA) are both coming off breakout seasons and are expected to lead the Lady Falcons under second-year Head Coach Jarita Crump. Center Teeria Vaughan (Sr./Walterboro, S.C.) will be counted on to provide inside depth for the Lady Falcons, who have 10 newcomers on the roster.
The Tip-Off will also start the season for host Southern Wesleyan, which was 5-23 last season. Brenau, the Lady Falcons' opponent, is 3-0 and Columbia International is 0-3 entering the tournament.
