Kamya Renwicks Scores Game-High 18 Points In Defeat

RALEIGH, NC (Nov 12) – On Friday, Nov. 11, Kamya Renwicks (Fr./Woodlawn, MD) scored 18 points and Kelsee Arnold (So./Fayetteville, GA) added 16 points and eight rebounds for Saint Augustine's University, but the Lady Falcons dropped their women's basketball season opener to Brenau University 93-81 at the Southern Wesleyan Tip-Off Tournament in Central, S.C.

The Lady Falcons will face Columbia International University in the consolation game today, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. The contest will be played at Tysinger Gymnasium on the Southern Wesleyan University campus.

Kiana Clark (Fr./Long Island City, NY) added 13 points for the Lady Falcons, who shot 45.5 percent from three-point range and 80 percent from the free throw line. Their accuracy from the arc and charity stripe kept the Lady Falcons within striking distance, but they could not overcome 53.6 percent shooting from Brenau.

The Golden Tigers (4-0 overall) shot 62.5 percent in the first half to open a 49-42 halftime lead. Brenau cooled off somewhat in the second half, shooting 45.9 percent but the Lady Falcons shot 38.5 percent in the second half to fall behind 80-67 in the fourth quarter. Clark scored six points during a late run to get the Lady Falcons within 85-79, but Brenau pulled away for the win.

Ja'Yon Leak (Fr./Charlotte, NC) chipped in nine points and Kaaliya Williams (Fr./Richmond, VA) scored eight points while Maiya Gibson (Jr./Randlestown, MD) registered seven points for the Lady Falcons, who shot 40.5 percent from the floor overall. Sydney Hass led four Brenau double-figure scorers with 17 points.
