SAU Women's Basketball Heads To ECSU Thanksgiving Classic This Weekend (Nov. 25-26)

The Lady Falcons Will Tangle Against CIAA Foes Elizabeth City State and Chowan

RALEIGH, NC – This weekend, the Saint Augustine's University women's basketball team will compete in the ECSU Thanksgiving Classic at the Vaughan Center in Elizabeth City, N.C.

The Lady Falcons (2-3 overall) will face two CIAA opponents in non-conference games at the Classic. They take on Elizabeth City State (0-2), the host of the Classic, on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. and Chowan University (4-0 overall) on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 4 p.m.

Coming off a 74-69 victory over Newport News Apprentice School on Tuesday, Nov. 22, the Lady Falcons enter the Classic with momentum. Kaaliya Williams (Fr./Richmond, Va.) scored 34 points including 14-of-14 free throw attempts to spark the Lady Falcons.

Williams leads the Lady Falcons in scoring with a 13.5 average and Kiana Clark (Fr./Queens, NY) averages 10.5 points. Kelsee Arnold (So./Fayetteville, GA) is the team leader in rebounds per game (5.5) and assists per game (2.3) in addition to averaging nine points, and Kamya Renwicks (Fr./Baltimore, MD) averages a team-high two steals. Paulette Addison (Jr./Wilmington, NC) averages one block per game which is the highest on the team.

This is the second straight weekend trip to Elizabeth City, N.C. for the Lady Falcons. On Nov. 18, the Lady Falcons played in the ECSU Classic.
