The Lady Falcons Square Off Against Voorhees On Friday And Clark Atlanta On Saturday
RALEIGH, NC (Dec 2) – This weekend, Saint Augustine's University will head to Winston-Salem, N.C. to play in the Red & White Classic at the Gaines Center. The Lady Falcons will take on Voorhees College on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Clark Atlanta on Sunday, Dec. 4 with both games beginning at 2 p.m.
Both contests are part of a doubleheader each day. Clark Atlanta will face host Winston-Salem State University on Saturday and Voorhees will battle the Rams on Sunday with each game starting at 4 p.m.
Admission to the Classic is $12 for adults and $10 for students. The cost is $5 for senior citizens and children ages 12 and under.
The Lady Falcons (2-6 overall) are coming off a tough 64-60 overtime loss to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke on Wednesday, Dec. 30 after rallying from an 11-point second-half deficit. Kiana Clark (Fr./Queens, NY) scored 15 points and CIAA Rookie of the Week Kaaliya Williams (Fr./Richmond, VA) added 14 points while Kamya Renwicks (Fr./Baltimore, MD) recorded the first double-double of her collegiate career with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four steals.
Williams paces the Lady Falcons in points per game (12.6) and rebounds per game (5.3) and Clark is second on the team in points (10.1) and rebounds (4.1). Renwicks is contributing as well with averages of 8.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 steals.
Both Voorhees and Clark Atlanta are entering the Classic with losses in their previous games. Voorhees was defeated by Coastal Georgia 64-42 on Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Clark Atlanta lost 73-59 to Georgia College on Monday, Nov. 28 which extended its losing streak to two games.
Voorhees (4-5 overall) is led by Keosha Hardaway with averages of 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. Danielle McFadden averages 11.4 points and Nijah Davis averages 10.8 points in addition to leading the team with 27 three-pointers. Clark Atlanta (3-3 overall) is sparked by Marissa Mandeldove who leads the team in points per game (18.3), assists per game (4.0) and steals per game (4.2).
