RALEIGH, N.C. – Marley Parker (So./Langley, British Columbia) smacked a two-run home run for Saint Augustine's University in a 13-5 loss to Bowie State University on the second day of the CIAA Softball Round-Up at Walnut Creek Softball Complex on Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Parker homered to center field to score her and Jasmine Rios (So./Greensboro, NC) in the third inning. Her homer and Tyanna Petersen's (Jr./Brooklyn Park, MN) single which scored Korey Hill (Jr./Virginia Beach, VA) moved the Lady Falcons ahead 3-2. The Lady Falcons added a run in the fourth inning for a 4-2 lead when Rios scored on a wild pitch.

Bowie State reclaimed momentum by scoring three runs in the fifth and eight runs in the sixth for a 13-4 lead. The Lady Falcons scored once more when Rios crossed home plate on Akera McPhaul's (So./Greensboro, NC) RBI groundout in the sixth.

Rios was 4-for-4 with a triple, double and three runs scored for the Lady Falcons, who collected eight hits. Tiffany Bearns was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Bowie State (3-1 CIAA, 7-9 overall), which had 10 hits.

The Lady Falcons (2-2 CIAA, 3-15 overall) will conclude the CIAA Round-Up with two games on Sunday, March 20. They will face Virginia Union University at 11 a.m. and Virginia State University at 1:30 p.m.
