Lady Falcons Make 27 Of 34 Free Throws For 79.4 Percent
 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (Jan 28) – On Saturday, Kaaliya Williams (Fr./Richmond, VA) scored 12 points for Saint Augustine's University in a 61-44 CIAA women's basketball loss to Fayetteville State University at Capel Arena.

Kamya Renwicks (Fr./Baltimore, MD) added eight points and Quiera Gilmore (R-Fr./Charlotte, NC) contributed seven points and three steals for the Lady Falcons. Shakeisha Washington (Sr./Atlanta, GA) and Paulette Addison (Jr./Wilmington, NC) each had six points.

The Lady Falcons, who lead the CIAA in free throw percentage (71.1), scored most of their points at the charity stripe, making 27 of 34 free throws for 79.4 percent. The top free throw shooters for the Lady Falcons were Williams (6 of 6), Washington (4 of 4), Maiya Gibson (Jr./Randallstown, MD) (2 of 2) and Gilmore (7 of 10).

The Lady Broncos (1-4 Southern Division, 5-15 overall) scored most of their points inside. Chinwendu Maduegbunam finished with 18 points, Breona Jones had 12 points and De'Aira Smith chipped in 10 points for the Lady Broncos, who scored 42 points in the paint.

The Lady Falcons stayed close early, trailing only 16-11 after the first quarter. The contest got away from them in the second quarter when they were outscored 22-8. The Lady Broncos took a 38-19 lead into halftime.

The Lady Falcons (0-5 Southern Division, 3-20 overall) are off until Saturday, Feb. 4 when they take on Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Game time is 2 p.m.
