SAU Women's Basketball Heads To WSSU Red & White Classic This Weekend (Nov. 18-19)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 17) – The Saint Augustine's University women's basketball team travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., this weekend for the Red & White Classic hosted by Winston-Salem State University at the Gaines Center.

The Lady Falcons will play two games in the Red & White Classic, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19. They will face Benedict College on Saturday and Central State University on Sunday with both games starting at 2 p.m.

Forward Kaaliya Williams (So./Richmond, VA) and guard Quiera Gilmore (So./Charlotte, NC) are the leading scorers for the Lady Falcons (1-1 overall) after two games with Williams averaging 13.5 points and Gilmore averaging 13 points. Guard Kamya Renwicks (So./Baltimore, MD) averages 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals, and Kelsee Arnold (Jr./Fayetteville, GA) and Bianca Igwe (Jr./Tampa, FL) both average 6.5 rebounds.

Benedict (0-1 overall) is ranked 25^th in the WBCA NCAA Division II Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll. Marissa Bruce had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Tigers in their season-opening 61-59 loss to the University of South Carolina-Aiken on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Central State (1-2 overall) is sparked by Sierra Harley, who leads the team in points per game (19.7), assists per game (5.0) and steals (11). Takyra Gilbert averages 15.7 points for the Lady Marauders.
