Marley Parker Homers In Second Game For Lady Falcons

RALEIGH, NC (Feb 28) – On Tuesday, Marley Parker (Jr./Langley, British Columbia) homered for Saint Augustine's University in the second game of a softball doubleheader against the University of South Carolina Aiken at J.H. Satcher Field in Aiken, S.C. The Lady Falcons lost both games 9-1 and 5-2.

Parker smacked a solo shot over the center field fence in the fourth inning to pull the Lady Falcons within 3-1. After USC Aiken (9-3-1 overall) scored twice in the bottom half of the fourth, Parker scored on an RBI double by Haili Pettifer (Jr./Langley, British Columbia) in the seventh inning for the final margin.

Parker was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Lady Falcons (2-6 overall). Pettifer accounted for the Lady Falcons' other hit.

Haley Sessoms (Fr./Kenansville, NC) scored the Lady Falcons' only run in the first game. She crossed home plate on a wild pitch in the third inning. Pettifer batted 2-for-2 for the Lady Falcons, who had five hits.

The Lady Falcons play their third straight doubleheader in South Carolina this week on Saturday, March 4. They face Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. with the first game starting at 1 p.m. followed by the second contest at approximately 3 p.m.
