RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 5) – Saint Augustine's University will play its second basketball doubleheader in three days on Saturday, Jan. 6, when the Falcons and Lady Falcons take on Lincoln (Pa.) University in Lincoln University, Pa. Tipoff is 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men at Rivero Hall.

The Falcons and Lady Falcons are looking to bounce back from tough road losses at Bowie State University on Thursday, Jan. 4. The Lady Falcons fell 80-62 while the Falcons saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in an 87-82 overtime defeat. Kaaliya Williams (So./Richmond, VA) led the Lady Falcons with 26 points while Tyre Gathright (Jr./Wilmington, NC) poured in 20 points for the Falcons.
The Lady Falcons enter Saturday's game with a 4-9 overall mark including a 1-3 CIAA record. The Falcons, who lead the Southern Division, are 3-1 in the CIAA and 6-9 overall. The Lincoln (Pa.) women are 2-1 in the CIAA and 7-4 overall and the Lincoln (Pa.) men are 1-2 in the CIAA and 6-7 overall.
The men's contest could be decided at the three-point line. The Falcons rank second in the CIAA in three-point field goal percentage (38.1) while the Lions rank first in the conference and seventh nationally in three-point field goal defense (29.1). Four Falcons are making over 38 percent of their three-point attempts – Kasey Bryant (Sr./Raleigh, NC/50.0), Rashad George (R-Fr./Raleigh, NC/47.4), Quinton Morrow (Jr./Burlington, NC/40.0) and Gathright (38.3). Kenneth Collins (Sr./Clayton, NC) is shooting 34.5 percent.
Gathright paces the Falcons in points per game (17.7) while Sean James is the Lions' top scorer (12.8). Quincy January (Sr./Atlanta, GA), who averages 15.2 points and 12 rebounds, ranks sixth in the nation in rebounds per game. He leads the CIAA in field goal percentage (64.3).
The women's game features two CIAA teams who excel in different categories. The Lady Falcons rank 11th in the nation in turnovers forced per game (24.2) and the Lions rank 18th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game (16.0). Williams, who averages a team-high 12.9 points, is the NCAA Division II national leader in free throw percentage (96.0). Michelle Fitzgerald leads the Lions in points per game (15.1) and rebounds per game (8.9).
After facing Lincoln (Pa.), the Falcons and Lady Falcons visit Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va., on Monday, Jan. 8.
