SAU Hosts Mount Olive In Women's Basketball Season Opener Saturday, Nov. 10

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 7) – Montel Jones makes his head coaching debut as Saint Augustine's University (SAU) hosts the University of Mount Olive in the women's basketball season opener for both teams on Saturday, Nov. 10. The contest is designated as Community Day, and fans are asked to donate at least $2 at the door for the non-conference contest, which starts at 2 p.m. inside Emery Gymnasium.

The Lady Falcons enter a new era of basketball under Jones, an assistant on the SAU men's basketball staff the previous two seasons. He inherited seven returnees from last season's 7-19 squad and added five newcomers. Mount Olive returns nine players from last season's 12-17 team and added six new players.

The season opener is the first of five games in the month of November for the Lady Falcons. Their next game is at Barton College in Wilson, N.C., on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m.
