SAU Women's Basketball Falls To Johnson C. Smith On Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 10) – Kaaliya Williams (So./Richmond, VA) and Angela Caraballo (So./Richmond, VA) each scored 12 points for Saint Augustine's University in an 82-65 CIAA women's basketball loss to Johnson C. Smith University at Emery Gymnasium Saturday on Senior Day.

Kelsee Arnold (Jr./Fayetteville, GA) chipped in 10 points and Tomisha Davis (Sr./New Bern, NC) added nine points for the Lady Falcons. Quiera Gilmore (So./Charlotte, NC) and Bianca Igwe (Jr./Tampa, FL) had eight points apiece.

The Lady Falcons (2-5 Southern Division, 6-16 overall) fell behind 22-11 after the first period and never recovered against the Golden Bulls. A free throw by Paulette Addison (Sr./Wilmington, NC) pulled the Lady Falcons within 22-16 in the second quarter but they got no closer the rest of the way.

Kendall Adams scored 20 points to lead four double-figure scorers for the Golden Bulls (4-3 Southern Division, 15-8 overall). Maiya Green scored 12 points and Xena Dove and Malia Rivers each scored 11 points.

After the game, Addison, Davis and Ke-Ashe Lee (Sr./Roanoke, VA) were recognized in addition to three men's basketball student-athletes and cheerleaders Carlisa Maxwell (Sr./Charlotte, NC) and Trynace Miller (Sr./Charlotte, NC) on Senior Day.

The Lady Falcons visit crosstown rival Shaw University in a CIAA contest at Spaulding Gymnasium on Friday, Feb. 16. Game time is 6 p.m.
