RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 14) – Saint Augustine's University hosts St. Andrews University in a softball doubleheader at Lions Park on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 12 p.m. Admission is free to the twinbill, which is the season opener for the Lady Falcons.
The Lady Falcons are led by seniors Akera McPhaul (Greensboro, NC), Jasmine Rios (Greensboro, NC), Marley Parker (Langley, British Columbia) and Haili Pettifer (Langley, British Columbia). Last season, McPhaul and Parker were All-CIAA first-team selections as an outfielder and utility player, respectively, while Pettifer made the All-CIAA second-team as a catcher. Rios, an outfielder, ranked second nationally in Division II in triples per game last season.
The Knights enter Thursday with a 2-4 overall record. Lexi Dawson and Brennan Broadaway are the top returning hitters for the Knights.
