RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 25) – Saint Augustine's University dropped both games of a softball doubleheader to Clarion University at Lions Park on Saturday, Feb. 24. The scores were 14-1 in the first game and 3-2 in the second game.

The Lady Falcons (2-4 overall) scored their only run in the first game on a single by Marley Parker (Sr./Langley, British Columbia) in the third inning for a 1-0 lead. Clarion surged ahead 5-1 by the seventh inning and broke the game open with nine runs in the inning.

The second game was much closer as the Lady Falcons nearly rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the seventh inning. An RBI double by Haley Sessoms (So./Kenansville, NC) scored Parker and left runners on second and third base with one out. Clarion (2-6 overall) struck out the next two batters for the win, however.

The Lady Falcons play again Wednesday, Feb. 28, against Barton College in Wilson, N.C. Game times are 12 p.m. and approximately 2 p.m.
