SAU Women's Basketball Looks To Gain Momentum At Home Wednesday (Jan. 30)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 29) – Looking to build off its big win over Shaw University last Friday, Saint Augustine's University (SAU) hosts Livingstone College in a CIAA Southern Division women's basketball contest at Emery Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
 
A win would give the Lady Falcons their first two-game win streak of the season. It would also push them up the Southern Division standings. They are sixth in the division at 2-3 but only 1½ games behind tri-leaders Johnson C. Smith University, Winston-Salem State University and Fayetteville State University at 3-1. Livingstone is fifth in the division at 2-2.

ADMISSION
$13 general admission for the women's game, which is part of a doubleheader. $8.50 for faculty/staff, senior citizens, military personnel, visiting students with valid ID and children ages 6-12. Free for SAU students with valid ID and children ages five and under (per one paying adult).

LAST MEETING AT EMERY GYMNASIUM
Kaaliya Williams poured in a game-high 24 points as Saint Augustine's University rallied past Livingstone 70-63 at Emery Gymnasium on Feb. 21, 2018. Williams connected on 7 of 14 shots from the floor including 3 of 5 from three-point land. One of the nation's top Division II free throw shooters, Williams was a perfect 7 of 7 from the charity stripe. She helped spark a late comeback for the Lady Falcons, who trailed 60-57 with three minutes left. The Lady Falcons went on a 13-3 spurt to sweep the Lady Blue Bears.
 
LAST GAME
Visiting Saint Augustine's University made one clutch play after another to outlast Shaw 85-80 in overtime of a CIAA game between crosstown rivals on Friday night, Jan. 25. When the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Falcons had ended their losing streak at Spaulding Gymnasium dating back to 2008, a span of nine games. Dynamic guard Angela Caraballo scored a career-high 28 points and added five steals to spark a balanced scoring attack. Four Lady Falcons scored in double figures and six SAU players scored six or more points.
 
Two straight wins and counting as Livingstone defeated Shaw 85-70 in CIAA action in Spaulding Gymnasium on Monday night, Jan. 28. Daisa Harris led the way with 25 points for Livingstone. She was 10 of 20 from the field, connecting on 2 of 4 three pointers. Harris was a perfect 3 of 3 from the free throw line.
