Off to their best start since 2011, the Lady Falcons (4-2 overall) will aim for their third straight regular-season victory this season against the unbeaten Bulldogs (5-0 overall), ranked fourth in the latest D2SIDA Atlantic Region Poll. SAU lost to Division I North Carolina A&T State University on Monday, Dec. 2, but the contest was an exhibition game and did not count on the Lady Falcons' record.

Prior to facing A&T, the Lady Falcons beat William Peace University 69-66 on Nov. 27 and Piedmont International University 77-64 on Nov. 30.

The Lady Falcons are winning with a team effort led by guard Quiera Gilmore (Sr./Charlotte, NC) and Preseason All-CIAA forward Kaaliya Williams (Sr./Richmond, VA). Gilmore leads the CIAA in steals (23) and ranks seventh nationally in Division II in steals per game (3.83). In addition to averaging 14.5 points, she spearheads a defense ranked eighth in the country in turnovers forced (25.0).

Williams leads the Lady Falcons in scoring (14.8), which is good enough for 10th in the CIAA. Her shooting percentage (47.9) ranks fifth in the conference.

Angela Caraballo (Sr./Richmond, VA) averages seven points and guard Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) averages 6.2 points, four rebounds and 2.3 steals, which is ninth best in the CIAA. Sophomore forward Jordyn Burton (Durham, NC) leads the conference in blocks per game (1.5) and forward Shankia Clark (Sr./Orlando, FL) averages 5.3 points and six rebounds.

Last Saturday's win against Piedmont International saw the emergence of guard Milequa Eason (Jr./Woodland, NC), who scored a season-high 18 points.

Kyaja Williams, a forward, has keyed the Bulldogs' impressive start. She averages 12.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.8 steals, which ranks ninth nationally in Division II and is second behind SAU's Gilmore in the CIAA. This week, Williams was named CIAA Player of the Week and CIAA Defensive Player of the Week.

Shawnkia McCallum, a guard, leads the CIAA in assists per game (4.8) and forward Talanya Hutton is the team's scoring leader (14.4). Hutton ranks third in the conference in field goal percentage (54.2) for the Bulldogs, who rank ninth nationally in scoring defense (51.2).
