SAU Visits Elizabeth City State In Softball Doubleheader Wednesday (March 27)

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 26) – Saint Augustine's University travels to Elizabeth City, N.C., on Wednesday, March 27, to take on Elizabeth City State University in a non-conference softball doubleheader between CIAA schools at South Park Sports Complex. Game times are 12 p.m. and approximately 2 p.m.

South Park Sports Complex is the same site where the Lady Falcons and ECSU met two weeks ago in the CIAA Softball Round-Up. The Lady Falcons fell 9-3 in the eighth inning after tying the game 2-2 with two runs in the bottom seventh.

The Lady Falcons (1-7 overall) are led offensively by Makayla August (Jr./Palm Springs, CA), who is also the team's top pitcher. August sports a .400 batting average and has three doubles and one triple in addition to six runs scored. An All-American last season, August is tied for fifth in the CIAA in strikeouts (37).

Haley Sessoms (Jr./Kenansville, NC) leads the Lady Falcons in hits (7) and runs (7) and has three RBIs. Tatyana Hall (Fr./Greensboro, NC) and Chandra Mackey (So./Nassau, Bahamas) are tied for the team lead in RBIs (4). Alyssa Griffin paces ECSU (3-13 overall) on offense with a .436 batting average and four RBIs.
