SAU-Claflin Softball Doubleheader Moved To Wednesday (April 3)

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 1) – Tuesday's softball doubleheader between Saint Augustine's University and Claflin University has been moved to Wednesday, April 3, due to the threat of inclement weather. The twinbill starts at 1 p.m. and approximately 3 p.m. at Adden Street Field in Orangeburg, S.C.

The Lady Falcons (1-7 CIAA Southern Division, 1-11 overall) are led by Makayla August (Jr./Palm Springs, CA) and Haley Sessoms (Jr./Kenansville, NC). August ranks ninth in the CIAA in batting average (.444) and tied for second in the conference in on base percentage (.583). As a pitcher, she ranks fifth in earned run average (4.29) and tied for third in strikeouts (57).

Sessoms is fourth in the CIAA in batting average (.486) and ninth in on base percentage (.526).

Claflin (10-0 CIAA Southern Division, 24-13 overall) is playing its first season as a CIAA member. The Lady Panthers are sparked by Kayla Cato, who leads the conference in hits (41) and is tied for first in home runs (9). LaKaylin Lee ranks second in the CIAA in hits (40) and leads the conference in runs (41).
