SAU Women's Basketball Hosts Regionally-Ranked Lincoln (Pa.) Saturday (Jan. 11)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 10) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) looks to knock off regionally-ranked Lincoln (Pa.) University in a non-conference women's basketball game between CIAA teams at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 11. Tipoff is 2 p.m.

The Lady Falcons will face their second straight regionally-ranked opponent on Saturday. They hosted Virginia Union University, which is also nationally-ranked, on Monday, Jan. 6.

SAU (5-7 overall) is led by Kaaliya Williams (Sr./Richmond, VA), who ranks first on the team and eighth in the CIAA in points per game (13.2). Williams makes 47.6 percent of her shots, which ranks second in the conference.

Quiera Gilmore (Sr./Charlotte, NC) ranks second on the team in points per game (11.3) and tied for fourth in the CIAA in steals per game (2.6). Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) is the team's third-leading scorer (8.6) and is tied for ninth in the CIAA in steals per game (2.1) and ranks fifth in free throw percentage (78.6). Jordyn Burton (So./Durham, NC) is tied for fourth in the conference in blocks per game (1.0) for the Lady Falcons, who rank seventh nationally in forcing turnovers per game (24.3).

The Lions (13-3 overall), ranked sixth in this week's Atlantic Region Poll, are coming off a 61-53 loss to Shaw University on Thursday, Jan. 9, in Raleigh, N.C. Lincoln's leading scorer Kwanza Murray only scored five points on 2 of 12 shooting in the loss.

For the season, Murray averages 21.3 points per game, which ranks second in the CIAA. She leads the conference in field goal percentage (47.8) and free throw percentage (88.4) and ranks fourth in three-point field goal percentage (39.1).

Tickets are $13 for general admission and $8.50 for senior citizens, military personnel with valid ID, faculty, staff, visiting college students with ID and children ages 6-12 as part of a doubleheader. The contest is free for SAU students and children ages 5 and under per one paying adult.
