SAU Women's Basketball Visits Virginia State Wednesday (Jan. 15)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 14) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) hits the road to face Virginia State University in a non-conference game between CIAA women's basketball teams on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Ettrick. Va. The contest begins at 5:30 p.m.

This is the first road game of the New Year for the Lady Falcons, who just completed a three-game homestand on Monday, Jan. 13. The contest is the first of three consecutive away games for SAU.

Kaaliya Williams (Sr./Richmond, VA) paces the Lady Falcons in points per game (13.3). She ranks seventh in the CIAA in scoring and fourth in free throw percentage (80.4).

Quiera Gilmore (Sr./Charlotte) is the team's second-leading scorer (11.4) and Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) ranks third on the squad in points per game (9.0) for the Lady Falcons (5-9 overall). Gilmore ranks sixth in the CIAA in steals per game (2.3) and Jordyn Burton (So./Durham, NC) is tied for fifth in the conference in blocks per game (1.0). Renwicks ranks eighth in the CIAA in free throw percentage (76.9).

Natalia Leaks leads the Trojans (8-9 overall) in points per game (11.7). She ranks 10th in the CIAA in rebounds per game (6.3) and second in free throw percentage (80.4). Yazmen Hannah averages 10.5 points.

Both teams met in a conference game on Dec. 16, 2019 at Emery Gymnasium. Williams scored 14 points and Gilmore added 10 points for the Lady Falcons, but the Trojans came out on top 64-50.
