The much-improved Lady Falcons (2-5 CIAA, 7-10 overall) are on a roll as of late, winning two of their last three contests. Their latest victory was a 78-73 overtime win over Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Kamya Renwicks (Sr./Baltimore, MD) tallied a career-high 26 points in addition to five assists, four rebounds and four steals and Shankia Clark (Sr./Orlando, FL) added 14 points and eight rebounds as the Lady Falcons made clutch plays down the stretch, a characteristic of their latest wins. Against Virginia State University last week, the Lady Falcons made plays in the fourth period to hold off the Trojans.

SAU is getting the job done with a group effort. Kaaliya Williams (Sr./Richmond, VA) averages 12.2 points and Renwicks and Quiera Gilmore (Sr./Charlotte, NC) both average 9.8 points. Angela Caraballo (Sr./Richmond, VA) averages 6.9 points and Shankia Clark (Sr./Orlando, FL) averages 6.4 points and 6.3 rebounds.

The Lady Falcons are among the best in Division II in forcing turnovers. They rank ninth nationally in the category, making teams cough up the ball 23.4 times a game. Gilmore and Renwicks are among the CIAA steals leaders, both averaging two steals per game.

SAU faces a Lady Bears' squad that has lost its last four games. Dejoria Howard leads Shaw (2-7 CIAA, 6-12 overall) with a 12.7 scoring average and Diamonique Kennedy averages 10 points. Ariana Fleming is scoring 9.6 per game.

The season series is tied 2-2 in the last four meetings between both teams. The Lady Falcons are searching for their second home win against the Lady Bears in three seasons.
