SAU Softball Hosts Bluefield State In Home Doubleheader Opener Saturday (Feb. 15)

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 14) – Saint Augustine's University hosts Bluefield State (Va.) College in its home softball doubleheader opener at Lions Park on Saturday, Feb. 15. The first game begins at 1 p.m. and the second contest starts at 3 p.m.

The Lady Falcons (0-2 overall) are led offensively by Shaquelle Bain (So./Nassau, Bahamas), Yasmine Thompson (Fr./Charlotte, NC) and Briana Person (So./Jarratt, VA). All three players collected a hit in the doubleheader losses to USC Aiken in Aiken, S.C., on Sunday, Feb. 9. Thompson smacked a double and Bain cracked a two-run homer, which scored Thompson, in the second game.

After the games against Bluefield State (1-1 overall), the Lady Falcons travel to Belmont, N.C., on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to play Belmont Abbey College in a doubleheader.
