RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 5) - Saint Augustine's University opened the 2022 softball season with a pair of losses to Anderson at the AU Softball Complex in Anderson, S.C., on Saturday. 

The Game 1 score was 12-0 and the Game 2 score was 13-0. 

Dawayna Pratt (Sr./Nassau, Bahamas) collected the Lady Falcons' only hit in the first game. The trio of Shaquelle Bain (Sr./Nassau, Bahamas), Victoria Spoon (Jr./Holland Patent, NY) and Yasmine Thompson (Sr./Charlotte, NC) each recorded a hit in the second game with Bain smacking a double.

Anderson (5-1 overall) was a Southeast Regional participant in the NCAA Division II Playoffs last season.

The Lady Falcons are back on the field Tuesday, Feb. 8, against Benedict in Columbia, S.C., for a doubleheader. The first game begins at 1 p.m. followed by the second game at 3 p.m.
