RALEIGH, N.C. (April 20) – The non-conference softball doubleheader between Saint Augustine's University and Bluefield State scheduled for Wednesday at Oakwood Park on Senior Day has been canceled due to COVID-19 results within the Bluefield State program. All options were exhausted by both teams before the games were canceled.
The Lady Falcons, winners of three straight games, will conclude the regular season with CIAA road doubleheaders against Winston-Salem State on Friday, April 22, at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and Fayetteville State on Saturday, April 23, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
SAU (3-9 CIAA, 3-19 overall) and Johnson C. Smith (3-9 CIAA, 4-13 overall) are one game behind Lincoln (Pa.) (4-8 CIAA, 5-25 overall) for eighth place in the conference standings. The top eight teams qualify for the CIAA Championship Tournament, which will be held May 3rd, 6th and 7th. The semifinals and finals on May 6-7 will be played in Glen Allen, Va., near Richmond.
